New Harmony, Indiana, is a fascinating historic town located on the Wabash River in Posey County. It's known for its rich history and unique charm. Originally founded in 1814 by the Harmony Society, a group of German immigrants led by George Rapp, the town was later purchased by Robert Owen in 1825 to create a utopian community. Although the Owenite experiment didn't last long, New Harmony has since become a National Historic Landmark District.


Today, Despite New Harmony having a population of around 700, it is a vibrant community with art galleries, museums, historic tours, and a variety of festivals and events. It's a great place to visit if you're interested in history, culture, and scenic beauty.
