This Michigan Lavender Farm Is the Summer Getaway You Didn’t Know You Needed.

There are some places that just feel like summer the moment you arrive — and Lavender Hill Farm in Boyne City, Michigan is one of them.

Picture this: rows of purple lavender, a big red barn, sunny walking trails, lavender lemonade in hand, and that “should we move here?” kind of peaceful feeling. Lavender Hill Farm calls itself more than a destination — “a feeling” — and honestly, that sounds about right. The farm is located at 7354 Horton Bay Road N. in Boyne City, and its 2026 summer season runs daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., May 6 through November 1.

And the best part? You don’t need a giant itinerary to enjoy it. You can simply show up, wander, breathe in the lavender, browse the Farmhouse Boutique, and let the day slow down a little.

What Makes Lavender Hill Farm So Special?

Lavender Hill Farm is the kind of place that understands the assignment: make summer feel simple again.

Visitors can explore the lavender fields, walk the trails, see the honeybees at work, visit the lavender labyrinth, check out the century-old events barn, and shop lavender-made products in the Farmhouse Boutique. During summer hours, the farm is free to visit and explore, which makes it a great stop for families, road-trippers, couples, girls’ weekends, and anyone who needs a little fresh-air reset.

For those who want a little more behind-the-scenes fun, the farm also offers guided golf cart tours. These roughly 30-minute tours cover the lavender plants, honeybees, historic barn, growing and harvesting, and the essential oil distillation process. Tours are listed at $8 per person, with ages 4 and under riding free.

Lavender Fest Fridays: The Sweetest Summer Tradition

Now let’s talk about the summer fun.

Lavender Hill Farm’s Lavender Fest Fridays are exactly what they sound like: Friday fun on the farm during peak lavender season. Guests can stop by between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. to enjoy the sights, scents, and sounds of summer. Admission is free, and the day includes live music, lawn games, guided farm tours, kids’ coloring pages, a scavenger hunt, food and drink options, popcorn, and Lavender Lemonade Fizz. There is also Yoga in Bloom from 9 to 10 a.m. for those who like their summer mornings with a side of stretching and serenity.

  • July 3 – Ricky Hill

  • July 10 – Owen James

  • July 17 – Alex Teller

  • July 24 – Two Track Mind

  • July 31 – Nick Visconti

It’s the type of event that feels easy in the best way. Bring the kids. Bring your friends. Bring your camera. Bring someone who says they “don’t really like lavender” and watch them leave with lavender lemonade, lavender soap, and a suspiciously full shopping bag.

Summer Nights in the Barn: The Concert Series

Lavender Hill Farm also hosts The Series, a summer concert lineup inside its historic barn, featuring musicians from across the country and beyond. The farm says tickets for all 2026 Series shows are available until sold out. (Lavender Hill Farm)

The 2026 lineup includes:

  • Willow Avalon – June 20

  • Lemon Squeezy – June 27

  • 1964 The Tribute – July 7 and 8

  • Bobby Alu – July 18

  • Unspoken Tradition – July 24

  • Lavender Goes Pink with Thornetta Davis – August 7

  • West Texas Exiles – August 15

  • Damn Tall Buildings – August 22

  • Horton Creek Bluegrass – September 5

  • Sionainn Laoi for The Boyne Heritage Center – September 19

For many shows, guests are encouraged to arrive early and picnic before the music begins. Summer Pass information notes that picnicking starts at 5:30 p.m., Local Ground outdoor performances run 6 to 7 p.m., theater seating begins after 6 p.m., and main stage shows begin at 7:30 p.m.

Make It a Day Trip — or a Whole Summer Memory

Lavender Hill Farm is not just a quick photo stop, although yes, the photos will be gorgeous. It’s a place to linger. Walk the fields. Sit in the shade. Sip something lavender-flavored. Let the kids do the scavenger hunt. Take the tour. Stay for music. Buy the lotion you absolutely did not plan to buy but now suddenly need.

And maybe that’s the real charm of a place like this. It reminds us that small-town destinations do not have to be complicated to be wonderful. Sometimes all you need is a farm, a barn, a summer breeze, a little live music, and rows and rows of lavender doing what lavender does best — making everyone slow down for a minute.
