Lavender season in Ohio
In Ohio, lavender fields are typically in bloom from mid-June through late-August, depending on variety. You may not find the fields of solid purple like in photos taken in France, but you will definitely enjoy some great photo ops at these lavender farms.
Bring a pretty basket, or gather a bundle of stems to include in your photos where allowed. Or bring a picnic, or just walk among the blooms and enjoy the wonderful scent of lavender.
Farms may require registration or tickets for farm visits, and some are hosting events such as yoga, art classes, workshops, festivals, and more.
Before you visit a lavender field or farm:
Bees are attracted to lavender. While they typically don’t bother humans (unless threatened), if you have allergies or concerns about the bees, this may not be a good activity for you – and bring medicine you would need if you have an allergy.

Cedar Ridge Trails

This family farm boasts a small lavender field as part of the larger farming operation. Growing 3 cultivators of lavender, Betty’s Blue, Buena Vista, and Grosso, Sandy Creek Ventures hosts events throughout the blooming season.
Due to the size of the farm, events require registration, and visits to the farm outside of events must be scheduled by appointment.
Maize Valley Winery & Craft Brewery

This destination has it all! Winery, Craft Brewery, Maize Valley market, Market Café, lavender field, and Fall fun. They also host events such as car shows, live music, holiday events, and more.
The lavender field features 2500 Lavender plants in the field comprised of 11 different cultivars. The field will be open for visits in mid-June 2023. Subject to change, the field will be open Monday – Saturday from 12 noon – 3 pm & 5 pm – 8 pm (weather permitting).
Lavender Trails

Over 1 mile of lavender with 8 different species. The 4 acre plot is located in the industrial park – a brownfield which was formerly a concrete dumping ground – and now a beautiful plot of lavender with a mission to “positively impact nature and educate others”.
Lavender Trails will open daily, starting July 1, 2024 from 9am- 6 pm, ending in late July. $5 per person. Gate fee supports The Upside of Downs organization.

The Country Store and Gardens provides job training and employment opportunities for adults who have developmental disabilities. The naturally-grown vegetables, fruits, and flowers are grown on Pegasus Farm by the individuals in the Wings Adult Day Services Program.
Bundles of lavender are $9.99 per bundle, and U-cut is available. You can also wander the 5 acre wellness garden.
